Domestic violence and other lifetime disturbance can have significant mental health effects. Although symptoms often recover or decline with increased safety and social support, maltreatment may sometimes have longer-term health and mental health effects. The disturbing effects of abuse can affect an individual’s ability to access safety, restore from trauma, and to pursue lifetime goals. In addition to that, living with mental health disorders or addiction upsurges a person’s risk of experiencing abuse in the future. Experience to ongoing abuse can also intensify symptoms and affect recovery. Then they would change the central social attitudes and foundations that promote, tolerate, or condone domestic violence. The last one is to ensure that women and children have the information of and access to all the services and opportunities endeavoring to promote these services locally.
